A MESSAGE FROM AIR BROKERS INTERNATIONAL, INC.

With the only constant in this era being rapid change, the staff at Air Brokers International, Inc. would like to take a moment to thank you for your patronage. It's apparent that now more than ever there is a need for understanding and openness to diversity in our world. While we can watch television, read the newspaper and listen to the radio, nothing brings a place and a people alive like being there. Although travel has been somewhat compromised by world events the last several years, we stand by our products and our belief in the transformational effects of around-the-world travel. We hope you continue to explore the world and expand your understanding of other people and places through the international travel experiences we provide.

WHAT'S NEW ON OUR SITE

In an effort to help you plan your Circle the Pacific trips, we've added a Pacific travel information page (Planning Pacific Travel.) Here we've outlined the considerations for travel to Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. From beaches to ski slopes, the Pacific Rim does not conform to convention, so if you're planning on going there you'll want to visit this page before buying your tickets.

We still have a Featured Fares link bar at the top of all pages beyond the Home page, providing access to fares for round-the-world travel (Circle the Globe, Business Class), Pacific Rim (Circle the Pacific, Asia), as well as the Deals page featuring our best air ticket values. We update the fare information seasonally so we recommend you take a minute to familiarize yourself with our site and set a bookmark in your web browser for the fare list most relevant to your upcoming travel needs.

We're continuing to improve our web site and hope you find it ever more useful while planning your international travel. Let us know what you think; we welcome your suggestions for improvement. And please remember, if you don't see what you're looking for in our site, it doesn't mean we don't have it. Send us a quote request and we'll get back to you with the information. We'll get you anywhere you want to go!

WORLD CLIMATE INFORMATION

EUROPE

Europe must be divided into three climate zones. Northwestern Europe has a wet and temperate climate. Rain occurs at any time, and it can be especially heavy in Ireland and the British Isles. There are rarely great extremes in hot or cold weather. Central and Eastern Europe have wet climates with cold winters and warm, dry summers. Southern Europe has a Mediterranean climate with mild and wet winters, and dry, hot summers.

AFRICA

Northern Africa has a mostly dry, desert climate. Most rain falls in the wintertime in the northern coastal regions. Sharp drops in temperature occur in the evening in the inland desert areas. The same climate can be found on the Arabia peninsula. Middle Africa has a hot tropical climate-hot and very wet in countries on or near the equator. Elsewhere, there is a distinct pattern of wet and dry seasons. Southern Africa has a desert climate inland, with a cold winter season. The southwest coast has a hot and dry climate. The southeast coast has a warm and wet climate. The southernmost part of South Africa resembles a Mediterranean climate.

ASIA

Most of Turkey has a Mediterranean climate. Inland can be wet year round and cold in the winter. In Northern Asia, Siberia has an arctic climate, which also extends to Northern Russia and Scandinavia. The weather is severely cold and dry in the northern and northeastern parts. Central Asia, Mongolia and western China have a cool summer and cold winter, and are mostly dry year round. In southwest Asia, the other countries through to India have a relatively dry climate with hot, dry summers and cold winters, colder in mountainous areas. The Himalayan regions and foothills are relatively wet year-round, cool in the winter, and pleasant during summer. India has a dry northwestern part characterized by the hot Rajasthan Desert. The northeast is the wettest and most fertile part. India is characterized by the wet monsoon season that starts in late May in southern India with southwesterly winds and abundant rainfall that will reach northern India about six weeks later. This season tapers off in October, and brings cool and dry months through March, when it starts heating up again until the monsoon rains bring welcome relief.

SOUTHEAST ASIA

The southwestern monsoon winds determine the climate through most of Southeast Asia. You'll find wet and warm hot summers and mostly dry winters, with cool temperatures in the higher elevations. The monsoon rain in the summer time dominates most of China, except for the aforementioned western China. Southern, central and eastern China and Taiwan share a subtropical climate and have mild winters. Northern China and Manchuria can have severely cold and dry winters.

JAPAN AND KOREA

These countries have moderate climates with moist warm summers, and cold, relatively dry winters.

THAILAND AND MALAYSIA

The Thai and Malay peninsulas are subject to southwestern monsoon rains on the west coasts during the months of May through September. The eastern sides experience northeastern monsoon rains that originate from the Pacific from October to March. Temperatures are hot year round with high humidity. The above-mentioned different monsoon seasons also influence the weather in Malaysia, Indonesia and the southern Philippine Islands. Regions occupying the northeastern coastlines receive more rain from October through March. Regions on the southwestern coastline have more rain from May through October. There's abundant rainfall year round with hot temperatures in general and high humidity. The central northern isles of the Philippines are subject to heavy monsoon rains and typhoons from May through October. The dry seasons from December through May have little rain. Hot temperatures can be found year round.

AUSTRALIA AND THE SOUTH PACIFIC

The northernmost part of western Australia, the northern part of the northern territories, the northern part of Queensland and New Guinea have a tropical climate with warm to hot temperatures year round and abundant rainfall from November through March -- the "summer" season in the southern hemisphere. Very little rainfall occurs in the other months. Southern Queensland and the northern part of New South Wales also have the most rain in the months of November through March. There's also moderate rainfall in the other months with milder temperatures from May through August. The region around Sydney receives most rainfall from February through July, with moderate rainfall in the other months. Temperatures are warm from October through April and are mild and comfortable during the rest of the year. The Canberra Territory, Victoria and the Adelaide region experience moderate rainfall throughout the year, with mild to warm temperatures from October through April and cooler temperatures in the remaining months. The Perth region receives most of its rainfall from May through September, with little rain in the other months. Warm to hot temperatures from November through April; mild temperatures are the rule otherwise. The interior portions of Australia receive very little rain. Temperatures are hot in their summertime, and are mild in their winters. One factor here is the big difference in daytime versus evening temperatures, which is typical in desert regions.

NEW ZEALAND

The northern island has a mild, almost Mediterranean climate with most rainfall during their winter from May through October. All months are relatively wet. The southern island has milder summers and cooler winters, with moderate rainfall in the east side of the Alps and abundant rain west of the mountain region. There's lots of snowfall in the higher elevations during winter and snow is possible year round in all upper mountain regions.

SOUTH PACIFIC ISLANDS

This area is characterized by a tropical oceanic climate with high humidity and warm to hot temperatures year round. Rainfall is moderate to heavy all year, but with a wetter period from November through April. The exception here is New Caledonia, with more moderate rainfall and the wettest months lasting from January through June.
